Tenue de ville
Tenue de ville
Tenue de ville literally means city attire. This is so neat attire for daytime, no evening clothes. For men, this means a net or dark gray suit (not brown) in combination with shirt and tie, black shoes and dark socks. Ladies can wear a suit or smart dress, but always with tights or stockings. A matching hat is an option, not an obligation.
